V4 PCB component repair/updating
#51
I think it is wise to put some kind of adhesive. I use a silicone glue. You can buy some at a hardware store. It will be by the caulk. I wouldn't use hot glue. The silicone is easy to control, doesn't melt, and comes off pretty cleanly if you need to remove it.

I added the adjustable bias and brought the bias up to 25ma - sounds good.

I had mentioned that when adjusting the hum balance pot, I'd get a lot of loud noise throughout the pot's sweep but that the noise would stop when the pot is set at either end of the pot's sweep - fully CW or fully CCW.

My last goal with this v4 is to try and bring the hum down to as low as possible - I understand a little may be inevitable, but the lower the better.

I had read of people replacing the hum balance with resistors here

Might the HB pot be bad on my V4? Any other places to examine/address that may contribute to hum?

The hum isn't loud where it effects the playability of the amp.
