Super Echo Twin
#1
Hi Guys,

I have just picked up a rather poor condition Super Echo Twin ET2 over here in the UK from a house clearance sale. Unfortunately the power cord has been cut off so can not test it.

Not sure what the Voltage of the PTs are, they show PT 106-230 682 319 stamped in the top. Can anyone confirm this is the European 230V PT not the US 110V.

Many Thanks

John

My ampeg parts catalogs are a bit too new to have that part in them. (1975)

you could put a power cord back on it, and use a variac to bring up the voltage while watching the current draw. bring it up to 120, if the voltages all look good, then it is the North American version, if they are too low, then you can crank it up to 230 and measure again.

Sorted, simply checked the fuses and they are rated at 240v and stamped in transformercode 106-230 relates to voltage

The restoration is coming on nicely, just waiting on the new O/T and see what happens when I fire it up.

Thanks for the reply post

I had a feeling that was the case, but its a pretty risky thing to recommend if one isn't certain.

glad it worked out. where did you get the O/T from?

Nice. Fliptops.net is a great resource. I believe the transformers they use are Heyboer. Good quality.
