Magnavox V4B Info, Please

Hi- super forum. Ampeg is so sweet and musical in tone. Fender a little metallic. I have a V4B Sn#66636 and on cord keeper tab 732306. It works pretty good, needs some cleaning & spec'ing. Two questions: do have some info on what year it acutally is? Second- I have been under the impression that these put out 160 watts. Thanks Digitube (best of both worlds)

The magnavox era amps are hard to date by serial number. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the serial numbers at that time (or if there is we don't know what it is). Best thing to do is open the amp and read the pot codes. That should give a good idea when the amp was made.

The v4b is a 100 watt amp. This is what ampeg advertised the amp as, and what I have always measured on the output.
