Actually, Selmer didn't buy Magnavox, Magnavox bought Selmer.
When Magnavox bought Unimusic (and Ampeg) they made Ampeg part of their Selmer division. Which made sense to the corporate suits at Magnavox, but ultimately didn't make any sense practically speaking.
Magnavox ultimately ended up selling Selmer to Philips, but kept Ampeg until 1979 or so.
Oddly Im not sure when they would've put Selmer on the SVT, Neither of them look too early 70s. My guess is that both are 1974 or later. if you date the potentiometers, you could get a closer guess.
