VT-40 Top-Loader chassis and back panel mounting screws..
#1
I bought a VT-40 that came without any screws to mount the chassis and back panel. Anyone know the kind of screws needed to mount a VT-40 Top-Loader chassis in the cabinet and the 12 back panel screws? Are they all the same? Are they machine screws like 8-32 x 1.25" or sheet metal screws with a point like a wood screw? I realize that original hardware might be difficult to get. These look somewhat like most of the Ampeg screw/washer I've seen...

Any other alternatives?

On the 70s Ampeg amplifiers the screws were generally #8 by 1-1/4 inch clutch head screws. These are standard screw threads not fine thread machine screws. These vintage screws are nearly impossible to find but occasionally you can find these on eBay for about three dollars a piece. A close approximation would be torx head screws that you can buy from fastener supply houses. Phillips head versions are available at Lowe's or Home Depot.
