#1
FS: 70's Ampeg VT40 60W Guitar Amp Head, new filter caps, JJ 6L6s and 4 preamp tubes. New 8' power cord. The front of cab was damaged, so I cut it back to a head using the original covering and back panel. SOLD.

You really did a great job with the cabinet! did you put a little spring in the bottom for the footswitch?

No. There was no pedal hold-down spring when I got it. But because of the really close proximity to the tubes, I wouldn't suggest storing the pedal in the back of the amp. I just wind up the cord and stuff it through the handle with the pedal itself resting on top.

Basically, what I did was peel and save the covering off the bottom of the cab and peel the sides back. Then cut the sides of the cab on the table saw, glue and screw a new bottom, then reapplied the original covering. It looks factory. Of course, I'm leaving out some of the sordid details. But the original top back panel dictated how tall the cab would be. The front still pops off like before, too.

Wow! really well done, way to keep it as original as possible. I wish ampeg had made a V2 head that looked like that.
