GV22 noise problems
#1
I hope someone can help me out here. I have a '68 GV22 that I've been restoring for some time now. It was basically a barn find that someone gave to me. I have the amp working now. Re-capped, new tubes, new output transformer and EVERY solder joint has been re-flown. Everything is working but I have a couple of noise issues. I say a couple because I believe they may be separate issues. The first issue is a constant hum. I'd say it's 60hz. It does change with the volume and I've ruled out the hum pot. The second issue is a pop when the amp is taken off of standby and when put into standby the is a pop followed by a series of pops that just sort of trail off. This changes when the "after beat" switch is changed so I believe this problem might be related to the echo/tremelo board. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm really at wits end with this amp. Love the sound though. It's been a labor of love for just over a year now.
